thinking makes it so

I am worthless…

My life is meaningless…

No one loves me…

No one even cares about me…

This world would be better without me…

Shakespeare wrote: “there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so”. The question is, are we using our thoughts to manipulate something into appearing good, when it is actually bad? More importantly (I think), do our thoughts convince us that something very beautiful is ugly?

  2. oh yes! our thoughts control. with the input received by others and with knowledge obtained by ourselves. and thus society's opinion can easily overshadow a beauty we've been told is ugly...

  3. The human mind is the most powerful tool imaginable. It can convince even the most proven skeptic otherwise. And things that are very powerful can also be very dangerous.

  4. The mind is a tricky thing, at the mercy of our own perception. Sometimes I believe the "thinking" part makes thing so much worse.

  6. i was just having this exact conversation with a man last night...the 'choice' do we have a choice in what we think and feel, he thought not, i thought so...everything is a choice. his argument, is not all people are so fortunate to know the difference, but is that not choice as well?

  7. I was thinking about reposting a blog post that I did about the movie Total Recall. Reality is what we believe it to be. Change your mind, and you change your world! :O)

  9. Hi Louis! I hope all is well:) Much love on this new year and new adventures.

I think our mind is one of our GREATEST enemies. We can convince ourselves of ANYTHING... that's why solitude, meditating and clearing your mind is so very important.

  12. I really enjoy reading your blogs, I just starting writing in mine again, but I love how you can bring such the deepest questions to my consciousness. Just here recently I made a huge realization that I was conforming to my surroundings and going with the flow of everyone instead of standing out and making my own decisions. I am slowly changing my thought processing to make for sure that I am making decisions according to me, and not others.

  13. No one could have said it better...how we perceive ourselves is what matters as that's also how others perceive us.
