hold on

His brothers always hated him. So much so that they sold him as a slave. He was broken, but he made sure not to stay that way. Instead of fading away, he worked hard as a slave and his master couldn’t help but notice. He gained more and more respect until the wife of his owner tried to lure him into her bed. Upon his refusal, she accused him of sexual abuse. Without a trail, he was thrown in jail.

He was broken, but he made sure not to stay that way. He worked hard, insistent never to miss a stride. In the harsh conditions of prison, he built a reputation as a man who wouldn’t lie down when the world gave him a beating. Soon the emperor became aware of this unique man, and demanded to see him. As the story goes, he eventually became the second most powerful man of his time!

  2. Your writing is very unique. I love the short blurb and then the question at the end really hits the mark. So, for this one it is difficult to have a victor mentality at all times and I do fall into victim at times. Trying to keep my focus and not remain chained.... :O)

  5. I love how you twisted a familiar story into something suspenseful. It's so easy to skip over Bible lessons we've heard a million times, but you brought something new to it and made it fresh. Thank you. I look forward to reading more of your posts!

  6. how we choose to deal with that which we've been given... it's so easy to sit back and say 'i'm a victim, there's nothing i can do' when in actual fact, you have the answers, and our future, in our very own hands. have a happy weekend louis!

  10. So true. If you've been dealt a bad card you can't just throw up your hands and give up, you just have to deal with it.
That's why we've got people in poverty who have no medical issues but refuse to work. They just don't care any more.
    Very sad :(

  18. consider it pure joy whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance and perseverance must finish its work for you to be mature and complete not lacking anything. we have a choice we can be a victim to our pain or we can consider those painful times in life as opportunities to learn and become complete. we can rejoice in suffering because we know it will produce fruit in us or we can wallowing. me? I choose joy!Joy is a decision that you conscientiously make, a fork in the road that you must choose to take. thanks for sharing :-)
